CSU Long Beach encourages community college applicants to participate in the CSULB STEM Transfer Admission Pathway (STEM-TAP). STEM-TAP is an admission pathway for CSULB's non-impacted STEM majors including:
*Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Option in Biomedical and Clinical
*Civil Engineering
*Construction Engineering Management
*Chemical Engineering
*Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
*Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology
*BA in Engineering Systems
*Physics and Astronomy
*Chemistry and Biochemistry
*Geological Sciences (Earth Science Geology)
*Mathematics and Statistics
*Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Science and Policy
*Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Science and Policy
(Biology is the only impacted STEM major on the CSULB campus and is not available via
STEM-TAP.)
Students who enroll in and meet all requirements for CSULB STEM-TAP are guaranteed admission to the STEM major. The STEM-TAP pathway requires CSU minimum eligibility, major-specific lower division preparation courses. For students completing the preparation courses, CSULB will accept an overall grade point average (GPA) that will be lower than CSULB's competitive out of are GPA admission cutoff.
Students are encouraged to achieve a transfer grade point average of 2.5 or better at the time of transfer.
K-12 ed: Should prep for current careers (stepping stones, initial jobs to pay for higher education), even though complete career training isn’t possible because those jobs aren’t created yet
