    My other thoughts:

    Sleep
Good quality, sufficient sleep is a requirement. Every night or nearly so. Sleep apnea is a possibility and should be seriously investigated. Without addressing sleep issues (if there are any), it's unlikely that you will loose weight. This of course is a terrible catch 22 since loosing the weight would likely resolve the sleep apnea. (if there is sleep apnea).

    Micronutrients
Micronutrient deficiencies are a very real issue as well - vlc or not. Most simply do not get sufficient magnesium, potassium, selenium and more unless eating 'head-to-tail" from ruminants plus some seafood. Without organs, glands, brain we simply will not meet our nutritional needs. For some, it doens't seem to be a problem. For others who have more metabolic disturbance, it seems to be a very significant problem indeed.

Liver alone won't do it and too much can get one into copper toxicity and symptoms of excessive A (ie dry mucous membranes and dry skin are ones that crop up pretty quickly)

How is your zinc intake? Your vitamin A? Selenium?

Supplements can help make up the shortfall though it's best to understand that this in no way is equal to an excellent 'whole animal' diet plus some plant foods.

Magnesium supplementation is a given regardless.... I like Jigsaw Health Magnesium - I wish something else was tolerable to my gut but so far nothing is - no citrate, no plain malate, no glycinate, no aspartate. If you tolerate citrate, great! It's cheap and well absorbed. Aspartate and glycinate are good as well if tolerated. Jigsaw's time released amino acid chelated malate is tolerated by everyone I know that's tried it. The expense though, can be a barrier for some. :/ Topical magnesium chloride (ie magnesium oil) is effective but causes skin irritation for many (me included, though I still use it sometimes)

I do make liberal use of well planned supplements....while I do eat some organ meats out at certain restaurants, I just can't quite get there at home on my own.
