A UK school that gardens and raises chickens.
A UK school created a business, with shareholders, to raise and sell chickens.
Join the "urban chicken movement" and raise your own backyard flock. Chickens are both fun and useful to keep. Don't expect to keep a breeding flock with noisy roosters, but your hens will earn their keep and provide enjoyment by laying eggs for you. Chickens can provide you with healthy, home grown eggs and meat, quality nitrogen-rich fertilizer, pest control and companionship.
Nichols Garden has a seed called Nichols Chicken Feed. It has Tyfon, Oakleaf Lettuce, Collards, Red Russian, Kale, Salad Bowl. You can either cut it to feed them or let them scratch in it.\n\nTake that a step further and plant some bird seed. Let it mature and feed it to the chickens during the winter. Most of it is millet or sorghum of some kind and sunflowers. It all grows closely together with no problem. It's easy to harvest. \n
