ish. is a viewport resizing tool. It’s called “ish.” because it focuses on general ranges (small-ish. medium-ish. large-ish.), rather than popular device widths. It’s our jobs as web designers to make sure our interfaces look and function across all screen sizes, and ish. is here to help.
Look up almost any logo you can think of. Get a downloadable vector version. Don't violate trademark or copyright laws! But this is useful for comparisons and making sure you don't produce a logo that looks like a derivative or match to an existing brand.
"Style tiles are for when a moodboard is too vague and a comp is too literal. Style tiles establish a direct connection with actual interface elements without defining layout. They work well for clients who have established brands and need them to translate smoothly to the web. Whereas the word “mood” is often associated with brand and identity design, the word “style” was chosen to mirror “cascading stylesheets” and reinforce that Style Tiles are specific to Web design. "
"Symbolset uses font magic to change words into icons. Made with love for computers and people."

Mental models have been studied by cognitive scientists as part of efforts to understand how humans know, perceive, make decisions, and construct behavior in a variety of environments. The relatively new field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) has adopted and adapted these concepts to further the study in its main area of concern (usability). This document will describe mental models and usability. It will then discuss the applications and limitations of mental models as they help improve software usability. The concluding section will describe a study developed and conducted by the authors. This study suggests some potential areas for further research that could help both cognitive scientists and HCI practitioners make progress in understanding mental models.
Now that we can use CSS transitions in all the modern browsers, let’s make them pretty
In HTML authoring, there are very good reasons to include an alt attribute into every img element. The purpose is to specify a textual replacement for the image, to be displayed or otherwise used in place of the image. Thus, the prime rule is: Consider what the page looks like or sounds like when images are not shown. Then, write for each image an alt text that best works as a replacement. This document also gives more specific suggestions for simple, common situations, and some uncommon too. For content-rich images, it recommends explicit links to textual alternatives.
"Get to know your audience by letting them decide which questions, suggestions or ideas interest them most. " This page kicks it off. Click the "Learn more" link to go to the how-to page.

All YouTube embed codes currently support HTTPS in addition to the standard HTTP. This page explains the details and gives instructions.
During my research i kept bumping into the official ISO 7001 DOT pictogram set. Below i’ve collected the authorized 67 pictograms from the standardized DOT pictogram set. I’ve gathered them in a single illustrator (and svg) file – they are under an open license so anyone can benefit from these.
Michael Flarup provides us with a killer royalty free App icon template: "Automation of icon sizes, bundled textures and a nifty export script puts it apart from other templates and arms the designer with a couple of tricks that will make drafting ideas faster."
Eren G shows how to "create an editable screen shot text effect. You can easily edit the text, you don’t need to repeat all steps from scratch, just double click the text layer and change it. This tutorial also has some good applications of Smart Objects."
Nice tutorial that creates an editable typographic effect in Photoshop. Author Tyler Denis says: "The purpose of this tutorial is to learn how to mask out an image so that it just shows through the editable text, making it friendlier to modifications later on. We will also work with layering textures to create a grungy retro background."
