VMWare Workstation与VMware server
都需要宿主操作系统才能安装，他们的区别是：
Workstation适用的OS更为广泛，但server只能安装在Linux Win2003
等服务器OS；Workstation更适合在自己的机器上使用，没有远程控制，
必须在宿主机上的管理界面操作（当然，你可以远程访问宿主机的桌面），
Server更适合作为服务器上使用，拥有较为完善的远程控制功能，可以
通过浏览器，连接管理中心，并连接到虚拟机上。

You can download and register VMserver for free. Once you have VMServer installed, use the wizard to create a virtual partiton. I always pre-allocate disk space (ex. going ahead and creating a 20GB partition). Then put your cdrom in and start the virtual machine. It will boot from the cd and away you go.
We use VMware at work for some of our Windows and linux servers. Let me if you have any questions.
