Caitlin Katz's List: AnnotatedBibliography

  • Introduction

Poverty is nothing new in America, and is a topic that is commonly discussed. However, what most everyone hears is of the poor who can barely scrape by, but still make it out alright, or those who cannot, and find help in shelters, programs, soup kitchens, and even the streets. What is not frequently discussed or looked into is the effect on the people who go through it. This is an effect that can harm the growth of its victims, specifically the children and young adults.

  • Conclusion

Poverty can not just disappear, but it is up to those who have the ability to make a difference to do what they can. In order to do that, everyone must know what they are dealing with and why it is so important. It is not fair that some children are forced to live the life of a mature adult by age seven, while others will never even reach that level. The care and help that the upper and middle class can provide is all they need.
