Through Discovery Streaming, teachers can show student educational video-clips. Students can take advantage of the Puzzlemaker tool. The site provides lesson plans for teachers, and has professional development opportunities as well as a community where they teachers can share ideas.
World can be used as an attention getter during the motivation portion of a lesson. Students can also make a Wordle as an assessment piece. Also, they can be very appealing to visual learners, helping to differentiate instruction.
This is a great resource. It provides lists of websites where teachers can access free clipart, photographs, video clips and sound clips.
This website has a collection of educational podcasts. You can sort by your content area, so I can look at K-12 videos, and find podcasts appropriate for my students. For example there is a podcast entitled BigStoryTime.com-Bedtime Stories for Kids that my students could use to hear stories read aloud to them.
This website is YouTube for educators. I could use this website to show my Pre-K students videos on shapes, numbers, alphabet, colors and many other concept areas!
This website has a library of free images for teachers and students to use that are copyright friendly. This images can come in handy when making websites or PowerPoint presentations.
