About this list
How can we keep up with ever-changing technology? The first section below lists conferences you can attend and organizations you can join. Membership usually results in a discount on conference registration and may also provide additional perks and discounts and/or subscriptions to publications.
The remaining sections contain links to ways you can learn on your own time through participation in webinar, webcasts, podcasts or by reading online publications or blogs.

Webcasts & Webinars
"EdTechTalk is a community of educators interested in discussing and learning about the uses of educational technology. We webcast several live shows each week. During shows, listeners can ... listen to the discussion and use the chat room to make comments and ask questions. After each show, we post a recording of the discussion as an mp3 file, which can be downloaded directly from the site or subscribed to using our RSS feed. We usually post a chat room transcript and a comment forum where people can continue the discussion (in text) after the show.
"An opportunity to gather with other members of the community in real-time events, complete with audio, chat, desktop sharing, and sometimes even video. You are invited to join us for our weekly Saturday show with co-hosts Peggy George, Kim Caise and Lorna Costantini! Use the Calendar link at the top for a list of "automatic updates to other live web events" in addition to the Saturday ones.

Professional development webinars for teachers - even though a subscription is required to access many BrainPop resources for use in the classroom, you can view (for free) archived versions of recent webinars on many topics and if you register as an educator (also free), you can participate live in upcoming webinars.
Not free, but you can pay to watch individual webinars - weekly during the school year or archived ones from the past. You can also have as many people as you like participating in a webinar at the same time - more people learning to make it more economical.
