For the latest reporting week, nine states didn’t file claims data to the Labor Department in Washington because of the federal holiday earlier this week, a Labor Department official told reporters. As a result, California and Virginia estimated their figures and the U.S. government estimated the other seven, the official said. - they make up the data now so we get good news!

But now, in a little-noticed move, the House Financial Services Committee,
led by chairman Barney Frank, has approved a measure that would, in some key
ways, go beyond the most draconian features of the original AIG bill. The new
legislation, the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009," would impose government
controls on the pay of all employees -- not just top executives -- of companies
that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would, like
the tax measure, be retroactive, changing the terms of compensation agreements
already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner
extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American
companies. -

This article hints at the "hidden costs" of the liberal agenda. If the left had its way, there will soon be government mandates on restaurants serving specific kinds of foods and rising costs. Who will hurt the most? Those in poverty who the liberals promise to continually help. I suppose we will then need more taxes to subsidize these higher costs for those on welfare.

This is sad, it goes to show you how much power the media unjustly has. Either that, or it shows how gullible and "sheepish" we are as Americans. People need to learn to seek out the real truth about people, events, and issues becuase we can no longer rely on the "news" media to provide it for us. Unfortunately, this time it could lead to us electing someone on false pretenses who could turn out very badly for our country.

When are people get fed up enough to finally so no to more taxes and bigger government? The really horrible part is that this increase in taxes and blatant, misguided, forced spending is veiled in euphamistic constitutional amendment to "protect water, wildlife, and increase cultural heritage." This is simply another attempt at liberals twisting our arms towards spending more money on things AND giving that money openly to a panel of unelected officials who get to spend it as they want. Plus, the amendment opens the door for more tax increases in the future with no public say. VOTE NO!

The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems.
