A hush-hush meeting held in Banff, Canada, last year seriously explored the issue of how to sneak (yes, that is the right word) — sneak a North American Union (NAU) onto the people of the U.S. Canada, and Mexico. What we are talking about is making a de facto merger of the three countries a fait accompli by the time it's too late to reverse it. What else can one believe when the term "evolution by stealth" is used?

Mr. Stursberg vigorously rejected suggestions Wednesday that the CBC had bowed to political pressure. He noted the CBC intends to air the reworked documentary next week, despite the continued objections of Chinese officials. "The suggestion that somehow the CBC would spend its time bending to the pressure of the Chinese government really takes your breath away," he said.

Jim Harding, a Canadian uranium expert is battling industry expansion in Ottawa area.

“Radon gas, only one by-product of the uranium decay chain, is known as the second leading cause of lung cancer,” Harding said. “The Mississippi, Ottawa and Rideau River watersheds – and all those who live on or near them – are at risk of radioactive contamination if uranium mining is allowed to proceed.” Harding is a retired professor of environmental and justice studies. As Director of Research in School of Human Justice at the University of Regina, he headed up the Uranium Inquiries Project. Harding will visit Ottawa, Wakefield, Perth and Carleton Place from Jan. 22 to 26. There are approximately 30,000 acres of active uranium claims in eastern Ontario, which affect unceded Algonquin land and private property near Sharbot Lake.

Manfred Nowak, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, demanded that China explain the dramatic increase in organs used for transplantation from 2000 to 2005, and the mismatch between the high number of transplants and the relatively few known donor sources. The Chinese government responded that they have no statistics on the number of transplants between 2000 and 2005.

WINNIPEG — A 17-year-old girl says she was tasered three times while confined to an RCMP holding cell in Selkirk, Man. The girl, who was 16 at the time of the incident, said she was held down by four officers, one for each limb, while a taser was used on her legs and groin area. She said the third shock lasted between five and eight seconds and left her screaming in pain.

So, here we have one 16-year-old girl confined to a holding cell, unarmed and intoxicated. Then we have four Mounties holding her down and tasering her three times. Just how is this individual, under these circumstances, a threat to four officers?

I am not an adherent of Falun Gong, nor am I religious otherwise. I am not even Chinese. However, it turns my stomach that there could be such inhumane abuses occuring right under our noses, and nothing is being done to prevent them.
