  • 1. Jesus started his ministry after John the Baptist was arrested by Herod Antipas, not in Judea, but in Galilee. Jesus preached the Good News from God and the message was the same as John's " The right time has come, and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe in the Good News !" (1:14~15)

    2. The first incidence of Jesus's preaching reported was in the synagogue of Capernaum on a Sabbath. (1:21~22)

Using Capernaum as a base, Jesus "must go to the villages round here. I have to preach in them also, because that is why I came"

So he travelled all over Galilee .... (1:38~39)

    3. Jesus preaching was also highlighted with healing and driving out demons

1st ... casting out an spirit in the synagogue of Capernaum (1:23~27)

    2nd ... healing Simon Peter's mother-in-law of a fever, supposedly in Capernaum (1:30~31)

3rd ... healing many people of all kinds of diseases and driving out many demons for people who flocked to the house Jesus was staying in Capernaum. (1:32~34)

    4th ... healed a man suffering from a dreaded skin-disease (1:40~44)

    5th ... healed a paralysed man in Capernaum (2:1~11)

    6th ... healed a man with a paralysed hand on a Sabbath (3:1~5)

7th ... Jesus healed a man with many evil spirits (5:1~13)

    • ourney to Heaven starts with the cryptic passage from Genesis, “Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, for God took him” (5:24). Where did the Lord take Enoch? Early on, the Bible seems to reject the finality of death and suggests some kind of continuity beyond the grave. Later Biblical prophets including Daniel, Ezekiel and Isaiah also describe the dead returning to life, and resurrection as a reward for the righteous.
