Leyla Bonilla's List: Hábitos vida personal

    • 1) If you totally disagree with what is being said, smile, and say something like

      “I’m afraid I don’t agree with you”
“You appear to have got your facts wrong”
“No, I don’t agree with your opinion”

    • 3) Which bring us on to dealing with criticism that is justified. The bottom line here is - admit it, apologize, move on.  Many of us find it hard to admit we’ve made a mistake or been lacking in our standards.

“I agree, I shouldn’t have lost my temper. I’m sorry it upset XXXXX”
“I agree, I have been late on several occasions this month. I’m sorry I’ve let you down.”

    • Your partner being late for a date may mean he hates you and doesn’t respect you, or it may mean he got stuck in traffic. That headache you’ve had for 2 days may be a tumor the size of a grapefruit, or it may mean you’ve been overdoing the caffeine.  That abuse that your boss just hurled at you may mean you’re a worthless piece of garbage, or it may mean his wife has just left him and he’s taking it out on you.
    • Whatever it is you want to do, it’s almost certain that somebody has done it before (or at least something very similar). Find out how they accomplished it and model them. Speak to them if possible and learn from their successes and their mistakes. If there is no option to speak directly (always tricky with dead people), read up on them and talk to people that may have known them.

    • Binge eating is the most common overeating mechanism. Binge eating is simply eating too much food. Often people binge eat to deal with stress, fear, anger or other tough emotions. A common binge eating episode is eating a whole tub of ice-cream at the end of a stressful day. Another common binge eating episode is dieting and crashing. This was my biggest problem when it came to weight loss. I would diet extremely, eating too little, and I’d be able to keep it up for a few days. However on the 6th or 7th day I would crash, and binge eat - basically eating all the fatty sugary foods I’ve been avoiding.
    • 1. Do NOT diet.

Dieting doesn’t work. I’ve tried all the diets. I would be able to keep a diet up for a few days. But then I would have a day where I would crash, and binge eat. Rather than trying to diet to lose weight, try to slowly improve your eating habits. Instead of eating 5 junk foods a day, try eating 4 for the next 7 days

    • So, generally it is better to be open about yourself and honest and clear about your intentions. In other words, the best strategy is the polar opposite of many people's actual practice in online dating.
    • The art of self-disclosing, then, is giving information to others in the right way and at the right time.

    • A good novel.

    • Poor people’s thinking is “Life happens to me.” If you wish to make wealth, it is important that you believe you are at the hand wheel of your life; and that you create every single second of your life. Your financial life, in particular.
    • For the coming week, I advice you not to sound off in any way. Neither complain about anything using your mouth, nor think unhappy in your mind. You will be surprised with the results and how successful and serene your life will become.

    • Because after having read five books you think and plan and think a little more. You get lost in thinking.
    • Thinking can’t replace action.

    • Visit your community library. Not only is a library a warehouse of books, most libraries also have extensive CD and DVD collections you can check out. Many libraries also have “story time” for young children, film nights, book clubs, and many other events that you may be unaware of - completely for free. Stop in and check out what they have to offer.
    • Check out some podcasts. Podcasts are wonderful things - top-notch audio programs available for you to listen to for free.

    • These questions should be reviewed every Sunday morning or sometime during the weekend when you have some quiet time to think.
    • What did I learn last week? – If you have trouble answering this question, it’s time for a change.  It doesn’t matter how old you are, you should learn something new every week.

    • Write more things down
    • This can be at night, when you can take 10 to 15 minutes to look over your notes and any material that you were given.

    • Do you find yourself saying the words I’m sorry or I don’t know often? Did you know that this over-sighted language pattern is actually limiting our potential to happiness and ultimately getting what we want?
    • If our conscious mind is indeed “in control” as we believe, then why do we sign up for gym memberships after new years and never go? Why it is that even after we’ve decided on something we really want (like a new hobby), we fail to take action on it?

    • Don’t Say: “Wow, you’ve lost a ton of weight!”
Why: To a newly trim person, it might give the impression that she used to look unattractive.
Instead Say: “You look fantastic.” And leave it at that. If you’re curious about how she got so svelte, add, “What’s your secret?”
    • Don’t Say: “You look so good for your age.”
Why: Anything with a caveat like this is rude. It’s saying, “You look great — compared with other old people. It’s amazing you have all your own teeth.”
      Instead Say: “You look great.”
      • You may have implemented a few systems, but here are some areas you might consider giving a clean-up:

        • Computer hard-drive
        •
        • Calendar
        •
        • To-Do Lists
        •
        • Project Task Lists
        •
        • Office/Desk/Home
        •
        • Filing System
        •
        • Closets
    • Make a Routine - Find a gym partner, class or workout time that you can exercise at least 3-4 times per week. I’ve experimented with different amounts and found six days a week works best for me. If you are unsure how to start, just try it for thirty days to see how it goes.

    • Mirroring is copying the other person’s physical mannerisms, movements and facial expressions when engaged in a conversation. You become a mirror image of the other person.
    • I’m always impressed when others I’ve just met remember my name and use it in a sentence. Since birth, our parents, teachers, friends, and family, have hard wired the sound of our name in our brain. It is certain to get your attention, instantly. It makes you feel important and respected, filling our desire for attention and love.

    • Drink water. If you typically drink lots of juice or soda or alcohol, replacing these calorie-filled drinks with water will cut a few hundred calories a day.
    • Exercise for 15-20 minutes
