Digital Citizenship
The standard behavior expected of those who use the internet to its potential and with responsibility. These people must abide by the nine elements such as: Digital Law, Digital Commerce, Digital Access, Digital Etiquette, Digital Literacy, Digital Communication, Digital Security, Digital Health and Wellness, Digital Rights and Responsibilities.
It's good to instill Digital Citizenship to digital natives at a very young age so they become accustomed to the ways.
Digital Law
A body of rules that protect the work and identity of an original piece of digital work. The original piece/pieces are protected from unapproved distribution, plagiarism, identity theft, and malicious hackers.
Many artists and celebrities are strong enforcers of the digital law, especially with today's new technology.
Digital Literacy
The ability to comprehend and use digital devices and softwares effectively enough to achieve goals and be more efficient.
Maintaining digital literacy is crucial in today's day and age, especially as a college student who is constantly using technology to complete assignments.
Digital Identity
The way someone's identity is perceived or established in the online community. This identity can reflect their identity in real life, and everyday personal information.
It is important that you know and control your digital identity to avoid any unwanted/untruthful information about you being released onilne.
online information and data specifically about an individual.
Digital Native
One who was born into or surrounded by digital devices and technologies from a very young age and has adapted to a high-tech lifestyle. They're able to understand and communicate efficiently through the digital world.
Its difficult to be a digital native in school since teachers have a very "old school" method of teaching their subjects.
Netiquette
As the combination of both words: "Network" and "Etiquette", it is defined as the proper behavior and manners someone holds while interacting with the online community.
I have to avoid some online games due to the fact that some players lack netiquette and I feel uncomfortable playing with them.
Disinformation
Unlike misinformation, disinformation is the intentional act of giving the wrong information to someone with hopes of it resulting in harm or deception.
Many people have tried to disinform me of the "benefits" of drugs to bias my opinion towards their liking and beliefs.
