A gag-per-day strip by Ryan Hudson (and sometimes his wife, Vee) that updates a few times a week on average. Early on most of the humor came from humorous "notes to self" which often had some sort of twist or double meaning to them. Over time this format slowly disappeared to make room for more varied humor, although "note to self" comics still appear from time to time. Please also take note that this comic makes heavy use of dark humor and is not recommended for the easily offended.

Diva Beelze is an average fifteen-year old girl. She likes the color pink, her first purse, and Justin Bieber. She loves cute dresses. She may not be the smartest cookie, but she certainly is the sweetest. There’s only one problem with that.

    Diva is a devil.

You see, Diva has a small problem. A goodness problem. She has these compulsions — uncontrollable urges to just be nice. She knows there must be a twelve step program, somewhere. She wonders when her parents are going to ask, ‘have you ever tried not being good?’

Clearly, the best solution is to become a superhero.

When an acquaintance unexpectedly arrives in town with a risky job proposition, Luther finds himself even less certain than usual.

Hundreds of miles away, a small University is stranded in the woods along the Bohemian border. It boasts some impressive assets, including a library fit to stun the neediest scholar. But amongst the thousands of volumes purporting to provide light and understanding, there are quite a few lingering shadows.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal is an episodic daily strip by Zach Weiner. The strip has few, if any, recurring characters.

Virtual Shackles by Jeremy Vinar and Mike Fahmie is a webcomic about video games. It occasionally strays into Real Life issues.

xkcd is a Stick Figure Comic by Randall Munroe. It is a gag-a-day comic, and generally does not have a continuing plotline or continuity (though there are occasional short story arcs). Many of the jokes are based on math, physics, UNIX and Internet memes, as well as romance and sex.

Originally a relatively unknown set of personal sketches and doodles, it grew in popularity in 2006 when other webcomics (such as Dinosaur Comics) began linking to it. However, it was when Randall posted a "Map of the Internet", and said map was subsequently featured on Slashdot, that xkcd's popularity truly erupted. Since then, it has been among the most well-known of webcomics.

The name of the series comes from something Athanasius Kircher wrote once: “The world is bound with secret knots” which I find somehow connected to the tag line I’ve been using: “comics about things we do without knowing why“. (even though Kircher was talking about magnetism…) Most of the comics are self conclusive stories, although if you look closely you may find some hints and connections pointing to a shared world. You can assume all these people live in the same ‘canon’, perhaps in the same imaginary city.
