Permission is given to modify the presentation to suit a particular institution's needs. MLA is free, APA, Chicago/Turabian are available for a fee. A useful tool for helping to prevent plagiarism, improving critical thinking & website evaluation skills. Site includes includes lots of extras like an educator blog and various tutorials for site tools. Library staff could use this in an inservice setting or direct the Academic Dean/Academic Committee/faculty to view the slideshow at their leisure in preparation to discuss its implementation by the college.

Contains a research ethics checklist based on the ethical standards professional researchers adhere to which would be helpful in advancing the goal of preventing plagiarism. Suitable for use with students by faculty members-interdisciplinary application.

Useful tool for first year Academic Seminar or anyone who wants to improve their ability to find credible resources on the internet.. It is concise & contains pertinent info on using URL endings to determine the possible credibility of a site.

The University of Lethbridge Library Guide page for evaluating resources. Helpful because it not only teaches website evaluation skills but evaluation of print sources as well. I especially liked the easy-to-remember use of the acronym for evaluating articles called the CRAAP test. (Currency, Relevancy, Accuracy, Authority, Purpose). Also includes a discussion of primary, secondary, & tertiary sources. Use in Academic Seminar for first years or link from the Library website.
