"Pharma has over 170 COVID vaccines in development, but Gates and Fauci pushed Moderna’s “Frankenstein jab” to the front of the line. Scientists and ethicists are sounding alarms. The vaccine uses a new, untested, and very controversial experimental RNA technology that Gates has backed for over a decade. Instead of injecting an antigen and adjuvant as with traditional vaccines, Moderna plugs a small piece of coronavirus genetic code into human cells, altering DNA throughout the human body and reprogramming our cells to produce antibodies to fight the virus. mRNA vaccines are a form of genetic engineering called “germ line gene editing”. Moderna’s genetic alterations are passed down to future generations. In January, The Geneva Statement, the world’s leading ethicists and scientists, called for an end to this kind of experimentation.

Moderna has never bought a product to market, proceeded through clinical trials, or had a vaccine approved by FDA. The company received an astonishing $483 million in federal funds from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), a sister agency to Fauci’s NIAID, to accelerate development. Dr. Joseph Bolen, Moderna’s former Research and Development Chief, expressed shock at Fauci’s “bet” in supporting the company. “I don’t know what their thinking was,” he told CNN. “When I read that, I was pretty amazed.”

Moderna and Fauci launched federally-funded human trials in March in Seattle. Dr. Peter Hotez warns of potentially fatal consequences from skipping animal studies. As he said to CNN, “If there is immune enhancement in animals, that’s a showstopper.” Dr. Suhab Siddiqi, Moderna’s Ex-Director of Chemistry, told CNN, “I would not let the [vaccine] be injected in my body. I would demand: ‘Where is the toxicity data?’” As precautions, Moderna ordered trial participants to avoid unprotected sex or sperm donations and Gates is promoting that all COVID vaccines be protected by blanket immunity. He hopes to sell his experimental gene-altering technology to all 7 billion humans and transform our species into GMOs."

"The link between Covid-19 and air pollution is particularly strong. A study set to publish in July linked six air pollutants in 120 Chinese cities with cases of the viral disease. Researchers in Italy have also shown that long-term exposure to air pollution is “significantly correlated with cases of Covid-19” in up to 71 provinces in that country. And a study that used data from California, set to publish in Environmental Research in August, showed that the air pollutants PM2.5, PM 10, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide were associated with coronavirus infections. The authors of that study concluded that reducing exposure to these pollutants “will contribute to defeating COVID-19.”

Scientists have even managed to measure the precise harm that a single microgram/cubic meter increase in air pollution has on a population, which, according to researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is “an 8% increase in mortality from COVID-19.”

"Abiometric digital identity platform that “evolves just as you evolve” is set to be introduced in “low-income, remote communities” in West Africa thanks to a public-private partnership between the Bill Gates-backed GAVI vaccine alliance, Mastercard and the AI-powered “identity authentication” company, Trust Stamp.

The program, which was first launched in late 2018, will see Trust Stamp’s digital identity platform integrated into the GAVI-Mastercard “Wellness Pass,” a digital vaccination record and identity system that is also linked to Mastercard’s click-to-play system that powered by its AI and machine learning technology called NuData. Mastercard, in addition to professing its commitment to promoting “centralized record keeping of childhood immunization” also describes itself as a leader toward a “World Beyond Cash,” and its partnership with GAVI marks a novel approach towards linking a biometric digital identity system, vaccination records, and a payment system into a single cohesive platform. The effort, since its launch nearly two years ago, has been funded via $3.8 million in GAVI donor funds in addition to a matched donation of the same amount by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In early June, GAVI reported that Mastercard’s Wellness Pass program would be adapted in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Around a month later, Mastercard announced that Trust Stamp’s biometric identity platform would be integrated into Wellness Pass as Trust Stamp’s system is capable of providing biometric identity in areas of the world lacking internet access or cellular connectivity and also does not require knowledge of an individual’s legal name or identity to function. The Wellness Program involving GAVI, Mastercard, and Trust Stamp will soon be launched in West Africa and will be coupled with a Covid-19 vaccination program once a vaccine becomes available."

"The United States has donated $1.16 billion more to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases worldwide.

President Trump provided a statement of support for Gavi at the public Gavi pledge conference, hosted by the United Kingdom, on June 4.

Bonnie Glick, deputy administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), announced this as the largest ever U.S. donation to Gavi. The multi-year commitment reflects the ongoing U.S. collaboration with other countries to reduce the spread of preventable infectious diseases, and prevent a backslide in immunization gains during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our support reflects American generosity and compassion, but it also demonstrates our understanding that global health security is a collective effort,” Glick said in a June 4 tweet. “As the current pandemic has demonstrated, a disease threat anywhere is a disease threat everywhere.”

The United States has allocated more than $12 billion for global health-security initiatives; development of COVID-19 vaccines, therapies and diagnostics; humanitarian aid; and emergency preparedness. The U.S. commitment to immunization complements the work of innovators in the United States and other countries who are racing to find a vaccine and treatments for COVID19.

Launched in 2000, with an initial $750 million investment from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi is a public-private partnership that supports global health-system strengthening and vaccine deployment for infectious diseases worldwide.

"There is so much debate over whether or not we should be wearing masks in order to fight C0VlD, but multiple scientific studies over the past decade have already settled this question. Not only do medical masks not prevent the spread of virus, but a 1995 study proves that wearing a cloth mask can put you at greater risk for infection. Ben Swann breaks down the science.

Vaccines, for Bill Gates, are a strategic philanthropy that feed his many vaccine-related businesses (including Microsoft’s ambition to control a global vaccination ID enterprise) and give him dictatorial control of global health policy.

Gates’ obsession with vaccines seems to be fueled by a conviction to save the world with technology.

Promising his share of $450 million of $1.2 billion to eradicate Polio, Gates took control of India’s National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) which mandated up to 50 doses (Table 1) of polio vaccines through overlapping immunization programs to children before the age of five. Indian doctors blame the Gates campaign for a devastating non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP) epidemic that paralyzed 490,000 children beyond expected rates between 2000 and 2017. In 2017, the Indian government dialed back Gates’ vaccine regimen and asked Gates and his vaccine policies to leave India. NPAFP rates dropped precipitously.

The most frightening [polio] epidemics in Congo, Afghanistan, and the Philippines, are all linked to vaccines.
In 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) reluctantly admitted that the global explosion in polio is predominantly vaccine strain. The most frightening epidemics in Congo, Afghanistan, and the Philippines, are all linked to vaccines. In fact, by 2018, 70% of global polio cases were vaccine strain.

In 2014, the Gates Foundation funded tests of experimental HPV vaccines, developed by Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) and Merck, on 23,000 young girls in remote Indian provinces. Approximately 1,200 suffered severe side effects, including autoimmune and fertility disorders. Seven died. Indian government investigations charged that Gates-funded researchers committed pervasive ethical violations: pressuring vulnerable village girls into the trial, bullying parents, forging consent forms, and refusing medical care to the injured girls. The case is now in the country’s Supreme Court.

South African newspapers complained, ‘We are guinea pigs for the drug makers.’
In 2010, the Gates Foundation funded a phase 3 trial of GSK’s experimental malaria vaccine, killing 151 African infants and causing serious adverse effects including paralysis, seizure, and febrile convulsions to 1,048 of the 5,949 children.

During Gates’ 2002 MenAfriVac campaign in Sub-Saharan Africa, Gates’ operatives forcibly vaccinated thousands of African children against meningitis. Approximately 50 of the 500 children vaccinated developed paralysis. South African newspapers complained, “We are guinea pigs for the drug makers.” Nelson Mandela’s former Senior Economist, Professor Patrick Bond, describes Gates’ philanthropic practices as “ruthless and immoral.”

In 2010, Gates committed $10 billion to the WHO saying, “We must make this the decade of vaccines.” A month later, Gates said in a Ted Talk that new vaccines “could reduce population”. In 2014, Kenya’s Catholic Doctors Association accused the WHO of chemically sterilizing millions of unwilling Kenyan women with a  “tetanus” vaccine campaign. Independent labs found a sterility formula in every vaccine tested. After denying the charges, WHO finally admitted it had been developing the sterility vaccines for over a decade.  Similar accusations came from Tanzania, Nicaragua, Mexico, and the Philippines.

A 2017 study (Morgenson et. al. 2017) showed that WHO’s popular DTP vaccine is killing more African children than the diseases it prevents. DTP-vaccinated girls suffered 10x the death rate of children who had not yet received the vaccine. WHO has refused to recall the lethal vaccine which it forces upon tens of millions of African children annually.

[Global public health officials] say he has diverted agency resources to serve his personal philosophy that good health only comes in a syringe.
Global public health advocates around the world accuse Gates of steering WHO’s agenda away from the projects that are proven to curb infectious diseases: clean water, hygiene, nutrition, and economic development. The Gates Foundation only spends about $650 million of its $5 billion dollar budget on these areas.  They say he has diverted agency resources to serve his personal philosophy that good health only comes in a syringe.

In addition to using his philanthropy to control WHO, UNICEF, GAVI, and PATH, Gates funds a private pharmaceutical company that manufactures vaccines, and additionally is donating $50 million to 12 pharmaceutical companies to speed up development of a coronavirus vaccine. In his recent media appearances, Gates appears confident that the Covid-19 crisis will now give him the opportunity to force his dictatorial vaccine programs on American children."

"Doctors who receive money from drugmakers related to a specific drug prescribe that drug more heavily than doctors without such financial ties, a new ProPublica analysis found. The pattern is consistent for almost all of the most widely prescribed brand-name drugs in Medicare, including drugs that treat diabetes, asthma and more.

The financial interactions include payments for delivering promotional talks, consulting and receiving sponsored meals and travel.

The 50 drugs in our analysis include many popular and expensive ones. Thirty-eight of the drugs have yearly costs exceeding $1,000 per patient, and many topped the list that are most costly for the Medicare Part D drug program.

Take Linzess, a drug to treat irritable bowel syndrome and severe constipation. From 2014 to 2018, the drug’s makers, Allergan and Ironwood, spent nearly $29 million on payments to doctors related to Linzess, mostly for meals and promotional speaking fees.

ProPublica’s analysis found that doctors who received payments related to Linzess in 2016 wrote 45% more prescriptions for the drug, on average, than doctors who received no payments."

"The federal government funneled billions in subsidies to software vendors and some overstated or deceived the government about what their products could do, according to whistleblowers.

The suit alleges that the company, which had $14 billion in annual revenue in 2018, obtained millions of dollars in federal subsidies fraudulently by covering up dangerous flaws in these systems at the Oklahoma hospital and more than 120 others it owned or operated at the time.

The whistleblowers also allege that Medhost, the Tennessee firm that developed the software, concealed defects during government-mandated reviews that were supposed to ensure safety.

Both CHS and Medhost have denied the allegations and moved to dismiss the suit. The motions are pending. Last month, Department of Justice lawyers wrote in court filings that they were still investigating the matter and had not yet decided whether to take over the case.

The lawsuit is one of dozens filed by whistleblowers, doctors and hospitals alleging that some electronic health records (EHR) software used in hospitals and medical offices has hidden flaws that may pose a danger to patients — and that a substantial chunk of the $38 billion in federal subsidies went to companies that deceived the government about the quality of their products, an ongoing Fortune-KHN investigation shows. The subsidies were designed to persuade hospitals and doctors’ offices to install software that would track the medical history of every patient and share the information seamlessly with other health care providers.

But the software makers allegedly gamed the system, repeatedly. Three major EHR vendors have made multimillion-dollar settlement deals — totaling $357 million — over Justice Department investigations which include allegations that they rigged or otherwise gamed the government’s certification test. At least two other companies are under investigation.

Beyond those cases, federal officials have paid hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies to doctors and hospitals that could not show they were even qualified to receive them, according to federal officials. Nearly 28% of doctors and 5% of hospitals who attested to meeting government standards later failed audits. Federal officials told Fortune and KHN that they have clawed back $941 million in improper subsidies.

“We’re entering an entirely new area of health care fraud,” John O’Brien, senior counsel with the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, said in a July 2017 video announcing a $155 million False Claims Act settlement with eClinicalWorks, one of the nation’s leading sellers of EHRs for physicians.

"Bits of metal, hard plastic, rubber and even glass are increasingly getting mixed and baked into processed meat products reaching consumers, triggering a record number of safety recalls, a Washington Post analysis of federal records shows.

So far this year, the Agriculture Department has announced 34 recalls involving 17 million pounds of meat products after stray materials were found in them.

That’s a sharp increase from a decade ago, in 2009, when there were five such recalls involving about 1 million pounds of processed meat.

Metal parts are breaking off machines that mix, chop and puree ingredients. Plant workers’ rubber gloves are falling into the meat mixes. And bits of plastic and glass from meat packaging and ingredient containers are getting ground into the food.

The makers of some of the most beloved and recognizable ready-made food staples have issued the recalls, which have included Tyson Foods chicken tenders, Jimmy Dean sausages and Spam."

"Life is about choice. Every day we make choices that determine how we want to live — what we eat, what we read, whom we elect and so on. But as lobby groups and Big Business wield their influence, your daily choices become increasingly limited. And when your options are deliberately cherry picked and certain alternatives are vilified and suppressed, how much choice do you really have?

Milk is a perfect example of how your choices are being restricted for no other reason than to benefit big business. Raw milk is banned in many states on the basis of claims that it may make you sick.

Yet, toxic herbicides and pesticides are dumped on our crops by the tankful, and this is touted as perfectly safe. If this reasoning seems nonsensical, then your reality testing is intact.

Government and industry are marked by massive corruption that has permeated most of the regulatory bodies in the U.S. The fight for food freedom isn’t just for those who love raw milk — it’s for anyone who wants to be able to obtain the food of their choice from the source of their choice.

In sharp contrast to the U.S., where raw milk is demonized, many European countries sell raw milk in vending machines, as illustrated in the featured video by The Healthy Home Economist.1 How can raw milk be safe all over Europe — safe enough to be dispensed from a vending machine, no less — yet be too hazardous to be sold in the U.S.?

The answer to that is that it isn’t dangerous at all. In fact, the U.S. standards for raw milk are in many instances higher than those for pasteurized milk. As noted by Healthy Home Economist founder Sarah Pope in the video,2 the reason Americans don’t have free access to raw milk has nothing to do with consumer safety; it’s about maintaining the profits of the Big Dairy monopoly.

Two Dairy Monopolies May Merge Into One
As reported by Washington Monthly,3 Dean Foods, the largest dairy processor in the U.S., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2019.4 Aside from processors like Dean Foods, farmers have the option of selling their milk to dairy cooperatives, which negotiate sales of the milk to processors and retailers on behalf of its members.

Dairy co-ops have been rapidly consolidating, however, leaving farmers with fewer options for sales. Now, their options may dwindle even further, as Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) — the largest dairy co-op in the U.S. — may end up buying Dean Foods.

The merger would pose a serious conflict of interest for dairy farmers, as DFA is supposed to advocate for farmers but would end up being a processor. As such, they’d have an interest in keeping milk prices low, at the detriment of the more than 14,000 dairy farmers they represent.5,6"

"The cost of American healthcare is literally unimaginable to most British people."

"Britons in a video released Tuesday expressed incredulity and shock at the high cost of healthcare in the United States and thanked the United Kingdom's publicly-funded and administered National Health Service for sparing the country's people such exorbitant prices.

"So if you're poor, you're dead," one young woman tells the interviewer from Joe Politics after hearing an asthma inhaler in the for-profit U.S. system costs between $250 and $300.

Two different men appear shocked when told Americans can be charged $2,500 for an ambulance ride.

"For real?" one asks. "Why?" asks another.

    Watch the video:

"I've said it before and I'll say it again," tweeted historian David Walsh, "the cost of American healthcare is literally unimaginable to most British people."

The person-on-the-street interviews that make up the four minute video come in the wake of reports in late November that the ruling Conservative Party, which faces off against left-leaning Labour on December 12 in national elections, is planning on opening the U.K.'s health system to a more U.S. approach after leaving the European Union. ...

"Brits can't fathom the barbarity of America's healthcare system," tweeted progressive radio host Benjamin Dixon. "But if they don't vote Labour, they'll find out once the NHS is sold off to America's healthcare vultures."...

The New Republic's Watson said that the Joe Politics video reinforced her experiences trying to explain the U.S. healthcare system to people in the U.K.

"When I try to explain how my insurance works here to British people," said Watson, "they're like 'wait, so you pay your premiums... and then you pay more when you actually go to the doctor?'"

"The societal costs associated with children’s exposure to opioids could total $400 billion by 2030, a new report from the United Hospital Fund estimates.

An estimated 2.2 million children across the United States have felt the impact of the opioid epidemic, exposures that could result in billions of dollars in health care costs and other ongoing expenses through adulthood, according to new research.

Children are most frequently affected through parents’ use of opioids, with 1.4 million children living with a parent with an opioid use disorder in 2017, according to a report released last month by the United Hospital Fund, a New York-based nonprofit. Additionally, about 325,000 children have been removed from their homes due to an opioid-related issue and another 170,000 children have used or abused opioids.

Individuals affected by the opioid crisis as children are more likely to incur higher expenses for things like healthcare or their own drug treatment, the report states. The societal costs associated with more than 2 million children being exposed to some aspects of opioids could total $180 billion, including long-term expenses that accrue through adulthood, the report said. Those projected costs include spending on the criminal justice system, drug and alcohol-related treatment and health care.

If current trends continue, the report estimates that the number of children who have an opioid use disorder or live with a parent with a disorder could reach 4.3 million by 2030. The cumulative lifetime costs of the “ripple effect” from additional spending could reach $400 billion, the report states.

Just as the opioid epidemic has taken a stronger hold in some states than others, children have not been evenly affected across the United States either.

West Virginia has long had the highest rate of fatal drug overdoses in the country. Not surprising, given the opioid epidemic’s outsize impact on the rural state, it also had the highest rate of impact among children. An estimated 22,000 children have been affected by the opioid epidemic in West Virginia, or 54 out of every 1,000 children in the state.

The opioid epidemic has already been blamed for an increasing number of children in the state’s foster care system, an amount that has doubled from 10 years ago. An estimated 6,900 children are in state care, and more than 80% are believed to have been impacted by the opioid epidemic.

Other states where the opioid epidemic’s impacts on children are being acutely felt include New Hampshire, Vermont, Kentucky, and Delaware, which each saw more than 40 children per 1,000 affected by opioids. The total projected societal costs in those five states could top $17 billion by 2030, according to the report.

Nationally, 28 out of 1,000 children felt the opioid crisis.

The report recommends several strategies for reducing some of the costs associated with the care of children affected by the opioid epidemic. Local leaders can work to coordinate responses among health care providers, law enforcement, child welfare agencies, and schools, “so families struggling with substance use disorder receive a ‘no-wrong-door’ approach to evidence-based services.” Further, leaders can create protocols to make sure children on the scene of parental overdoses or other traumatic events get assistance. Providing aid for foster parents or other caregivers to support children who are exposed to trauma through the opioid epidemic, and increasing the availability of family-based mental health services can also be beneficial, the report said.

"The human mind has an incredible capacity for adaptation and evolution. The new skills we can learn, the memories we can hold on to and let go, the trauma we can process and heal from… Sometimes it seems as if there’s no limit to our cognitive potential.

Research into psychedelics is confirming what we already thought was true; the psychedelic experience can catalyze profound personal transformation.

We can see signs of this transformation in the brain – the resetting of the Default Mode Network, and the growth of new neurons, are two examples.

Another scientific area that’s linked to transformative experiences is neuroplasticity. Interestingly, there’s some evidence that psychedelics could help to boost neuroplasticity in our brains, potentially helping us adapt and make positive changes in our lives.

    What Is Neuroplasticity?
Neuroplasticity is the ability of neurons (brain cells) to change their characteristics during your life. This can be affected by inputs from your emotions, behaviors, experiences and even thoughts.

Neurons work by making connections with other neurons by transmitting an electrical or chemical signal. The location and strength of these connections can be linked to our cognition – the way we think. For example, in people suffering from depression or stress-related conditions, often they will have fewer connections, or fewer overall neurons, in specific parts of the brain."...

There’s also evidence that neuroplasticity could help treat depressive symptoms, or anxiety. People suffering from depression often have fewer cells in their hippocampus, alongside many other signs of reduced neuroplasticity (for a review, see Duman et al, 2016).

Boosting neuroplasticity could therefore potentially help fight depressive symptoms. We know that most common antidepressants increase neuroplasticity. Ketamine, a synthetic psychedelic that can increase neuroplasticity, has also been recently shown to have amazing antidepressant properties (Aleksandrova et al, 2017).

How Can You Boost Your Neuroplasticity?
Science is showing there are a number of lifestyle changes you can make to boost your neuroplasticity, and they probably won’t surprise you...

Exercising, especially in mid-to-late adulthood, has been shown to boost the levels of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) in the brain, which is known to be involved in neuroplasticity (Erickson et al, 2012). This study also found that exercise could improve memory function, possibly related to an increase in neuroplasticity in the hippocampus....

Meditation has been shown to have a large number of physical and emotional benefits, and now scientists are starting to think it might also be connected to neuroplasticity. Experienced meditators have been shown to have more neurons in certain parts of their brains, potentially related to better regulation of emotions (Vestergaard-Poulsen et al, 2009). This increase in the number of neurons can happen even after a few weeks of meditation practice, and occurs in important brain areas such as the hippocampus (Hölzel et al, 2011).

Several diet factors are also apparently important in neurogenesis. High-sugar, high-fat diets in rodents have been shown to negatively affect neurogenesis (Reichelt et al, 2019). More evidence in rodents shows that walnut- and blueberry-rich diets could both improve neuroplasticity in the hippocampus, and potentially improve memory (An et al, 2017; Carey et al, 2019)

Aside from diet, meditation, and exercise, there’s another way you can potentially boost your neuroplasticity… And all it could take is a guided psychedelic experience.

    Could Psychedelics Affect Neuroplasticity?
There is a growing body of evidence that psychedelics have the capacity to boost neuroplasticity in the human brain.

One study, led by Calvin Ly at the University of California in 2018, showed that the psychedelics LSD and DMT could help rat neurons grow more branching connections; an important form of neuroplasticity.

In another, led by Briony Catlow at Johns Hopkins University in 2013, low doses of psilocybin (0.1mg/kg) slightly increased the number of new cells growing in the hippocampus of mice, while high doses (1mg/kg) greatly reduced neurogenesis. This shows how important psilocybin is in neuroplasticity, even if we don’t yet understand all the nuances.

Another recent study, led by Jose Morales-Garcia in Madrid in 2017, grew mouse brain cells in the lab. When the cells were grown with harmine, tetrahydroharmine (THH), and harmaline (three of the major components of the psychedelic brew ayahuasca), the cells grew bigger, and looked like healthier neurons.

Psychedelics Change The Organization Of The Brain
Finally, there is ample evidence that psychedelics can change the way the neurons of the brain make connections to each other.

Psilocybin has been shown to increase the amount of entropy in the brain (Tagliazucchi et al, 2014). In other words, psilocybin allows neurons to work through connections that it normally doesn’t use. The brain becomes more flexible, and more unique. We make associations we normally wouldn’t make, becoming more creative. We discover completely new ways of thinking about the world and ourselves....

Psilocybin has also been shown to have the power to “reset” the typical control structures of our brains. The DMN, or Default Mode Network, is a system in the brain that helps keep you focused on tasks. However, it can be overactive, especially in people with depression. Psilocybin has been shown to shut down the DMN, and “reset” it into a more healthy configuration (Carhart-Harris et al, 2017).

Ultimately, psychedelics like psilocybin clearly have wide-ranging and profound effects on the way our neurons communicate and grow.

    Want To Transform Your Neuroplasticity?
This all adds up to one clear message: Neuroplasticity can improve your mind in several ways, and the psychedelic experience can boost your neuroplasticity.

The Synthesis retreat is designed to maximize the beneficial effects of the psychedelic experience, by providing an environment where you can explore your potential for change.

The number of heroin deaths rose 23% to 12,989, more than gun homicides

Fentanyl - a synthetic opiate - claimed 16,000 lives, equivalent to 44 per day

majority of those killed are ordinary people in smalltown America....

More than 50,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year, the highest figure ever.

The tally has been pushed to new heights by soaring abuse of heroin and prescription painkillers, especially fentanyl.

Heroin deaths rose 23 per cent in a year, to 12,989, slightly higher than the number of gun homicides, according to government data released yesterday.

The total number of gun deaths - which included suicides and accidents - rose seven per cent to 36,252.
