"DoomsDay Preppers" is a fascinating television show that is aired on National Geographic. The show consists of everyday people who have been influenced that the world is going to end in December 2012. The show also consists of new people every episode with their plans on what to do when the world ends. This ties into my essay because the "doomsday preppers" are people who believe in the world ending and I am going to tell you why they're influenced and I am also going to explain using some examples on how they are preparing. Note: not every prepper believes in the same "ending". I'd like to put this article into my paragraph that talks about "doomsday prepping"

The author explains in his article "why the world will end in 2012" using about 10 different examples and how they all relate to each other in the end- "the apocalpyse". For example, the author refers to the Mayan Calender coming to an end in 2012 along with religion such as Christianity and Islamic movements and how both of them come to an end. This is interesting because in my paper I am going to discuss primarily in one of my paragraphs about the different reasons people believe in the world coming to an end. It's important to get both sides of the argument. This article will tie into my paragraph that is labeled "why people look forward to the apocalypse and will it happen in 2012?"

Well, it's good to know that Homeland Security doesn't think that the world is going to come to an end due to a Zombie Apocalypse. What they really want is us citizens to be prepared for any type of disaster or some sort of devastation. They say if you are prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse you are automatically prepared for many other events that can happen such as an earthquake or terrorist attack. Essentially what the author is getting across is maybe they do think some sort of disaster will occur and they want us citizens to be prepared. In one of my paragraphs ill be discussing different apocalyptic scenario's and this is important because regardless of an apocalypse people should always prepare for or be ready for some sort of disaster because we do not live in a perfect world.

Whether you believe in the apocalypse or not - this is what the topic of one of my paragraphs will be about. The author, discusses the idea of theories and how a person can latch on to this theory and believe it exists. In this case, people grasp on the idea of the apocalypse due to a theory or many theories that are usually influenced by society. This relates to my paper because in order to have idea you must first influence the brain in order to get that idea. Psychology is an important aspect of the apocalypse because without the idea of the apocalypse there would be no theory and if there is no theory then there is no belief in the idea of the apocalypse actually happening. This topic relates to my overall thesis "The effect of psychology on the apocalypse".

The article is fascinating in regards to being entirely about a video game known as Day Z. The purpose of a game is your a survivor and you start off with nothing. The object of the game is to survive but you are also playing with other survivors. If you get killed you have to start all the way over as if you hadn't saved any of your progress. A video game such as this plays a huge role on the human mind and the influence on the apocalypse. This game could be a training mechanism for people who have survived a Zombie Apocalypse if there is one and what the game creators think life will be like. This shows the impact of social psychology and how video games play an effect on the human mind.

The world has too many problems to be fixed so either God or a catastrophe shall do it. The article is mostly about this statement, a man's theory that people have created to many problems. Also, if survivors are just paranoid in the truth that the world will end or are they simply preparing for the worst. Yet, another theory this author is showing us. An important topic to discuss is why people look forward to the apocalypse and will it happen in 2012? Well if the apocalypse doesn't happen and we continue to live our every day lives there are going to be a lot of disappointed people out there. Religion plays such an important role in this issue that it must be discussed. Have humans really dug a hole that's too deep?

"Doomsday Preppers" are being fired on about how it is negatively hurting the community. They are being bashed because some people might view them as crazy and they're not part of the norm. The author is clearly a prepper and is defending the prepping community. What i like is the author brings up valid points arguing why prepping isn't a bad thing as people make it out to be. Preppers are an important topic on my paper, so getting both sides of the argument is key. Doomsday prepping is just a way to prepare for something that is inevitable, but not necessarily during my generations life time.

Almost similar but "doomsday preppers" is aired on National Geographic, where we now have "doomsday bunkers" aired on Discovery Channel. The author tells us about how doomsday bunkers is a show based off a company that will build a bunker for you in preparation for an apocalypse or natural disaster. This is fun because it shows that there are people not only preparing for such events, but are taking it to the next level and purchasing a bunker they will have customized and built for a catastrophe. This will fall under the category of course with doomsday preppers. It's just fascinating to me that psychy plays a huge important aspect on people like this, who have gone from their every day lives to focus on one objective and that's to survive.

While there are reasons for the world ending there are also reasons for it not to end. This article brings up 10 failed apocalypses that have happened over the years a lot of them being failed predictions. This just goes to show you that maybe people are over thinking 2012. Everyone knows throughout history there have been theories and predictions that the world is going to end on certain days and it doesn't. So, for the sake of making an argument this clearly falls under why the apocalypse wont happen. The article is also important because it lists apocalypse predictions and the ones that have failed. Personally, I don't believe the world will end in December 2012. I do think that this will be another failed prediction. So if I had to agree with this article I would, because it helps reassure my mind and idea that the apocalypse wont happen.

NASA scientist claims that the movie 2012 along with the apocalypse happening in 2012 is all fictional work. He claims that the scenarios presented in the film such as a sun flaring burning earth or another planet crashing into earth will not happen. This is reassuring for anyone who doesn't want the world to end. This coming from a scientist, so you figure that his theory might be more believable. This could catch the attention of those who dont believe in the apocalypse or those who are questioning it. I'd relate this to my introduction and main idea "The effect of Psychology on the Apocalypse" because this is yet again a theory, and this theory can sway one person into thinking that the apocalypse will not happen.
