What is a Healthy Lifestyle?

Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle involves taking the responsibility upon oneself to consciously life a life that promotes good health rather than lead a life that does not.

The first consideration is to be very mindful of what you eat. In our society we are fixated on loving and eating all of the wrong things. That is why we live in an obese and overweight society, fraught with diabetes, heart disease and cancer. It all begins with what we eat.

For example the average soft drink that comes in a can has 8 tablespoons of sugar contained in it. Since our liver processes sugar and turns it into alcohol, is it any wonder that people who are addicted to sugar contract cirrhosis of the liver?

Most of the foods that we purchase off of the grocer store shelves are processed foods, meaning that in many cases chemicals are substituted for the natural ingredients of the foods. Plus the fact that fructose (a form of sugar) is a common ingredient. Just read the labels and you will be amazed at the chemical names that you cannot pronounce and the abundance of fructose.

You should strive to find natural and organic sources of your fruits and vegetables, and buy lean meats. Most of the supermarket meats are still full of the antibiotics and hormones that were given to the animals in the feedlots, none of which are good for us.

The other huge element that most of us miss when we are talking about leading a healthy lifestyle is the lack of exercise that is rampant among the people of our society. While it is true that it is easier to sit and watch television than it is to spend 30 minutes taking a walk, we would all be better off if we went ahead and took the walk.

These two major factors, if corrected, will make all the difference in the world in the overall health and well-being of anyone. If a person walked for 30 minutes a day, the transformation in energy, vitality and mental outlook is astounding.

Our bodies were meant for moving around, sit sitting around. We need to periodically flex our muscles and get our blood flowing. When the muscles are exercised by walking, the heart is also exercised. Exercise keeps our entire body in good shape and vital. When we don't do anything, we tend to atrophy, and it will cost years off our life expectancy. Finally you check this healthylifez.org review to better life style
