Samsung Galaxy Note PRO 12.2 rumor timeline

Dec 8, 2011. First rumor of an 11.6" hi-res tablet, to be announced in Feb 2012; it never happened.

Feb 27, 2012. The lo-res Note 10.1 is announced.

Apr 29, 2013. An 11" Galaxy Tab and a Nexus 11 are rumored.

Jun 10, 2013. First rumor of the 12.2" hi-res tablet.

Jul 13, 2013. Samsung's UAProf website lists it.

Jul 27, 2013. @evleaks mentions it, along with the Note 10.1 v2014.

Sep 1, 2013. Moveplayer leaks the only picture so far.

Sep 4, 2013. The Note 10.1 v2014 is officially announced, but no Note 12.2.

Sep 15, 2013. The 12.2 gets Bluetooth certified.

Oct 14, 2013. Apparently, the 12.2 was originally intended as a Nexus device; this is in line with the rumor about a Nexus 11 in Apr.

Oct 15, 2013. The device is assumed for Feb 2014.

Oct 27, 2013. The device gets AnTuTu benchmarked.

Oct 28, 2013. The Verizon variant gets Bluetooth certified.

At this point, I somehow get the feeling that there won't be an announcement before 2014. I guess Samsung will wait for an ¡Pad Maxi or so, and Apple already had a chance to announce one. OTOH, according to that leaks, the device is very much there already.

Oct 31, 2013. The LTE variant (SM-P905) passes through the FCC; Engadget also suggest a launch won't happen soon.

Nov 4, 2013. Samsung is said to go into production at the end of the year with a release in Q1/2014, and the device might sport a new capacitive touch layer.

Nov 5, 2013. Apparently, Samsung will concentrate on tablets (and low-end phones) in 2014; there's even a 13.3" device in the plans, but it might be a non-stylus Android/Windows hybrid, already rumored in Oct.

Nov 12, 2013. The 3G variant (SM-P901) goes through the FCC.

Dec 20, 2013. The device name seems to be getting a Pro label and is rumored for week 6 of 2014 (Feb 3–7), which is neither CES nor MWC; first real picture!

Jan 1, 2014. Another AnTuTu benchmark proof; the device is rumored to get Android 4.4 with a renewed TouchWiz. Announcement expectation sadly has shifted towards MWC (end of Feb).

Jan 2, 2014. The SM-P900 (Wi-Fi only), SM-P901 (GSM) and SM-P905 (LTE) get Bluetooth certified.

Jan 5, 2014. Bam! One day ahead of the CES, Samsung puts up a billboard (not yet) revealing the Galaxy Note Pro!

Jan 6, 2014. The Galaxy Note PRO 12.2 is finally announced!
