An anti-theft system is the electronic surveillance system used for prevention of burglary, stealing, product lifting etc. from retail outlets. What was once done by appointing shop guards and using lock and keys for the prevention of theft has evolved with time in antitheft systems with the help of technology.

Different types of anti-theft systems are now available in market. Most of the mega retail stores are using these systems for keeping electronic eye watch on the store items. Depending on the level of security these systems are selected and chosen for retail outlets; however along with security needs, a few other factors may influence the selection process of anti-theft systems in a retail outlet.

The price

In retail outlets low prices materials are kept secured with usual anti burglary system while expensive items remain protected under sensitive and pricey anti-theft system. Depending on the average cost of the commodity protected with this preventive system its price range is decided.

Intensity of surveillance

Required level of surveillance is one of the deciding factors for installation of an anti-theft arrangement in a retail outlet. If we compare surveillance intensity between a cloth retail outlet and a jewelry outlet, certainly the jewelry outlet will require higher intensity of surveillance.

User friendliness

Usually these security arrangements are a bit intricate and needs delicate handling. More a system is pricey; it is more delicate and accurate in its output.
