It has been proven that sound pollution is also a source of depression, hyper tension and migraine etc. This has necessitated that solution to these problems be found as soon as possible. One of the ways in which reduction of harmful effects of sound pollution is achieved is through use of acoustic insulation.
There are several techniques to carry out acoustic insulation; Noise barriers are used to either absorb incoming sound or reflect it, sound baffles are used for damping sound so as to reduce its intensity, which results in a reduction of sound level to range below the permitted level, anti-noise generation is yet another technique that helps in preventing loud sound, it utilizes a sound generator that produces sound to cancel the incoming one etc.
