Benefits of Acoustic Insulation

from web site

We live in an amazing time. On the one hand, we are progressing towards the limits of technological advancements and have achieved revolutionary heights areas such as health, power generation, transport etc. While on the other we are battling against one of the most vicious
problems, Pollution.

One of the challenges that India is facing right now is that of sound pollution. It is the most prevalent kind of pollution, it also the most lightly taken. The Oxford dictionary defines the term sound pollution as Harmful levels of noise. Source of such pollutions are cars, loud music in social events, industries etc. According to statistics, the level of sound pollution in major Indian cities, measured in decibels, is way above permissible levels.

While the average conversation sound level stands at 60 dB, the average sound level in Indian cities stands at 80 dB. This level of sound is estimated to be harmful to human ears and can be a source of many harmful diseases. It has been proven that sound pollution is also a source of depression, hyper tension and migraine etc. This has necessitated that solution to these problems be found as soon as possible. One of the ways in which reduction of harmful effects of sound pollution is achieved is through use of acoustic insulation.

There are several techniques to carry out acoustic insulation; Noise barriers are used to either absorb incoming sound or reflect it, sound baffles are used for damping sound so as to reduce its intensity, which results in a reduction of sound level to range below the permitted level, anti-noise generation is yet another technique that helps in preventing loud sound, it utilizes a sound generator that produces sound to cancel the incoming one etc.

There has been much growth in industries related to acoustic insulation in India in recent times. Mostly because of high demand in houses for acoustic insulation in India, there have emerged many companies that provide high quality insulation products that prevent harmful noises from entering into households. Given the ever increasing levels of noise, this industry is bound to see more players and more competition in coming future
