Why Internet Faxing is better than Traditional Faxing

fax to email

You may have heard the rumours about the death of the fax. The rumours are wrong: the fax has not died - it has simply matured. Today, we are moving from static faxing—using a traditional fax machine and phone line—to dynamic faxing- using the internet to send fax in a variety of formats and using a variety of methods. Here, we are forwarding the argument that fax to email and other forms of online fax are better than traditional methods of faxing.

  1. You do not have to wait around for the fax to send. Before, you had to wait for the dial up, for the call to connect and for the fax to send. This took ages, but if the line were engaged, you would have to wait for several minutes- sometimes upwards of half an hour…for a single fax. Today, it takes a matter of seconds to fax, regardless of volume (- providing you have all the recipients numbers in your email programme, if not, it takes the time to type their number, and that takes a couple of seconds, so it is much faster regardless).
  2. You can modify the document, adding headers and footers, adding an electronic signature, and various other things.
  3. You can set the fax to notify you that it has been received. This can even include an acceptance report that the recipient has to select, so you know it has gone directly to them (this is the same feature that you find with emails).
  4. You have the option to add data security features. Faxes can be encrypted to ensure that if they are intercepted that they cannot be read. You can also add password protection on faxes that you receive – they can only be opened if you know the password.

There are many other benefits of fax to email systems, including less impact on the environment and increased office space, to find out more, please visit www.interfax.net.
