Can I find friends on dating sites?

I signed up for one of the dating sites specifically to find like-minded people and folks I’d just enjoy talking to. When I told my friends about it, they laughed at me, like I don’t even get what dating sites are for. But I totally get it, I’m just not looking for a relationship right now, I just want to talk.

And I really do think it’s a great idea. Of course, you just have to find a more fitting dating site. I use a bunch of different platforms, and some of them are definitely more for finding a hookup or a partner for one night and that kind of thing. And the tips/articles in blogs like cupid.com/dating-blog/ are exactly about that. But there are more classic sites too, where you can just find a new friend or someone nice to chat with.

That’s a great idea for how to use dating sites. You’ll probably find some new friends instead of the ones laughing at you.
