The statistics paint a grim picture. According to the World Resources Institute, more than 80 percent of the Earth’s natural forests already have been destroyed
Actually, Wikipedia is a pretty good place to visit for research projects because it can direct you to other, more reputable sources about specific topics.
Wikipedia is a site that I use a lot but it is also a site that I am very careful with. Although this site contains a lot of information, the information can be altered by anyone.
This site is great for many reasos. First, it contains a high quality and quantity of free informaton. Most anything you would want to know about a topic can be found here. Secondly, it is always being updated. So it is always up to date. And lastly, it has a great main page that has a featured article, current news, a search engine, an "on this day" blurb, along with other things for the person who wants to learn something but doesn't know or care what they want to learn about. The one downfall to Wikiepedia is that anyone can edit the information, so if you access a particular article after an idiot has placed some wrong or rude information, the information might be somewhat wrong. In my experience, the wierd or wrong information is weeded out pretty quickly though.
