  • The market for CD-ROM technology has arrived. About four million CD-ROM players were sold in the United States in 1993, and this year the number of CD-ROM players in use is expected to double, to about 15 million. By 1999, an estimated 8 of every 10 computer users will have CD-ROM players attached to their systems, according to Infotech, a market researcher in Woodstock, Vt. And many of them will be business users.
