Caixin complains that letting NSN buy Motorola's wireless networks business could deal a damaging blow to overseas expansion by Chinese telecom companies. Horsefeathers. It would level the playing field.
"Nokia Siemens Networks, the network- equipment joint venture between Nokia Oyj (NOK1V) and Siemens AG (SIE), delayed the closing of its $1.2 billion purchase of assets from Motorola Solutions Inc. for a second time within three months. "
Whatever one thinks of the debate over Huawei’s relationship with the Chinese government and how it should be treated in the U.S., one thing is clear: The Chinese company has dramatically upped its public relations game in its quest for American acceptance.
