Twitter is a useful tool. It can also be incorporated into your elearning courses. Today I’d like to share a few ideas to whet your appetite. However before I share some tips, it’s probably a good idea to explain some Twitter basics.

Suppose you’re doing a course on organizational leadership. Inevitably, some learners will have questions of the subject matter expert (SME). You could incorporate a subject matter tweet that lets people ask questions or follow the SME after the course is complete. Consider it a post-course consulting tool. It also humanizes the course and makes it seem more personal, which can contribute to its perceived value.

YouTube - Diigo presents WebSlides (New Version)
This video works best as a conceptual overview of how the Diigo slides feature can be used to create a variety of different web-based presentations. I'd recommend this video as an 'eye opener' to the potential uses for this remarkable social bookmarking site.
On the other hand, it is is not a 'How to' video. Well worth watching for anyone involved in e-learning, collaborative research, blended teaching environments, library media studies, web 2.0 communications.

Supported POP client list - Gmail Help
I use gmail as my main email application. I'm hooked on the ability to keyword search ALL of my email. I've set up all of my key email addresses to forward to my email account. With filters and labels I can organize things.
I've found the UW-Stout Outlook mail system to be a real pain in the neck. It doesn't have many features and it is cumbersome to use. So I've used the settings on this page to set up auto-forwarding from my Stout Account to my Gmail account. This really helps when I need to search out information. It's a techie thing to set up, but it's a time saver as well. Thought I'd share this with the group. (I know many of you aren't checking your UW Accounts often enough! 8-))
