Four newly-qualified doctors in Wales have been told they haven't passed their final exams after all, and have been forced to hang up their stethoscopes after less than ten days to return to the classroom.
Cardiff University has admitted that due to a clerical error the four were given incorrect results, and must return to being students until they can resit the exam module that they failed. The mistake was potentially serious as it exposed patients to unqualified and potentially incompetent care.
