David Townsend’s face swelled up “like a Michelin Man” and within 90 minutes of taking his first tablet he was dead from anaphylactic shock.

County council backs bid to let GP surgeries dispense drugs - Carlisle News & Star 10th November 2008
County councillors are backing a bid to ensure Cumbrian doctors’ practices can continue to dispense prescriptions.
Patients who live more than one mile away from a chemist are currently able to get medication directly from their GP.
But Government proposals would mean patients could do this only if their surgery is more than one mile from a chemist or they live in rural areas.
