Terry, who held a variety of senior management posts for Nat West Plc, retains several non-executive offices within organisations including the Merseyside Special Investment Fund and Beverages Direct and has also held a number of other positions within the north west in a voluntary and non-executive capacity.

Why do we have so many governors? They are split in three sections. We have board directors, also non-executive directors.
I think they are a waste of time. We live in a recession. Do we need all of them pen pushers? What is their purpose?

FOUR new non-executive directors have been appointed to Cumbria’s health trust which looks after mental health services.\n\nIn the first appointment process of its kind in Cumbria, the non-executive directors have been appointed to the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust by the governors' council, made up of locally-elected members. They will represent the community. This is a major difference from the procedure in NHS Trusts where non-executive directors are appointed by the NHS appointments commission.
