1901 by stoneofwonderland. If you watch only one vid on this post, watch this one. The concept for this is so imaginative & fun. The vidder has overlayed the Disney cartoon version on top of the Syfy verion. The end result is incredibly dynamic. The rest below are all Alice/Hatter. The vid-maker calls this "Popup book," though, technically, nothing actually pops up. Still pretty cool, though. Description: a wordless video of a man turning pages of a small home-made book. Each page has a hole punched in the center, with a black yarn threaded through them. As each page is turned, the yarn is drawn tight into a straight line, which becomes part of the illustration spanning two pages.

Also Caught by vespersaw, featuring not only Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, but also William Powell and Myrna Loy, and Olivia de Havilland and Errol Flynn... *swoon* (I must interject here that never in a million years did I ever expect to find fanvids including footage of Captain Blood and Robin Hood aside from the fantastic ode to Yuletide one.)

Welcome to the 3rd day of December and the 3rd day of Twist Serve's 2009 Advent Calendar! Today, I'd like to share two videos that made me laugh a lot. This is how Tenipuri would be like if we replaced all the sound effects. XD; And, what if Tenimyu was sung with only ba, be, bi, bo, bu sounds? This is what it'd be like. XD; This one's my favorite out of all the Aitsu ga tenisu no oujisama parodies. There are tons of them out there.

I was distracted by the cracktastic awesomeness that is watching fanvids on Youtube. The Flack "Holding Out for a Hero" video was nice, but some of them are, well, interesting. It should be noted in fairness to the vidders, however, that the most WTF-inspiring video I saw today wasn't created by a fifteen-year-old with A Mac and a crush. No, that honor belongs to the actual video for Bonnie Tyler's guilty-pleasure anthem, "Holding Out for a Hero," a video presumably directed by a professional adult, and that probably cost a stupid amount of money.

That time has passed. I have been fangirling Kara hard lately. Gods, I love her. And I love people who make awesome fanvids of her. I just cannot help myself. I was recced this one by a friend just today. It's pretty incredible. I'm a sucker for characters with Daddy Issues (o hai, Kara and Kate!) and this video is a portrait of the admittedly frakked up Kara/(Bill) Adama relationship. It's beautifully done and really affecting. Worth a watch. [Like My Very Own Blood by jarow]. This one is an old vid that I've had bookmarked for a while. I'm not a Kara/Lee fan (I don't 'ship her with anyone in particular) but I love it. It's not an incredibly executed video like the last one, but I still love the story it tells. And the music. I love me some Carbon Leaf, and now I can't hear this song and not think of Kara; it's perfect for her. Oh, and boxing!Kara is hot. Spoilers for Unfinished Business. [The Boxer, youtube]
