"So a while back when I was asking for recs of AoS movies with crossdressing women, someone mentioned "Cutthroat Island" starring Geena Davis but said it was a pretty bad movie. I've never seen it, but someone recently posted this fanvid to the vidding community, and it's pretty good -- lots of swashing and buckling, and I like the song, and of course crossdressing piratical Geena Davis.

"If you search for Leverage on YouTube, you can find some really good videos. But none of them compare to the first video behind the cut. The clips, the lyrics, the way it's all put together, it's just brilliant. I've watched it at least ten times. Maybe closer to fifteen. If you are all caught up on Leverage (actually, I've examined it, and I think you only need to have seen up to 2x07), you should check this out. the other two videos under the cut are by the same creator and they're just cute. So I thought I'd include them. :D

God's Country by astartexx (Supernatural) - A stunning Jo vid that really celebrates and mourns the character appropriately. Blind Hope by heresluck (Firefly) - MY SHOW. That's about as coherent as you're going to get from me here. Hope and love and family. Let It Rock - A Kris Allen & Adam Lamber "friendship" vid that is the most shippy thing I've ever seen. I Could Be There For You by [info]sol_se - A vidlet for the short film Statuesque. Captivating and intriguing and made me want to seek out the source.

Suffrage by [info]e_transitions - A moving vid of the movie Iron Jawed Angels which covers the suffrage movement and all that women went through to get us the right to vote. Powerful.

Glass Coffin by [info]giandujakiss (VR.5) - OMG IT'S A VR5 VID. That was pretty much my first response when I saw it. It's also a perfectly chosen song for Sydney. I've forgotten most of what I know about this show, but this vid reminds me of why I loved it.

This captures her intensity and the sort of desperateness that goes along with it. Dollhouse - Everything. A celebration of the incredibly complex Miss Adelle DeWitt. Go With the Flow by bradpcu. Echo and the journey to self-awareness. Bale Out Christian Bale Remix by kiki_miserychic. Echo-centric. While the song choice initially makes it seem like a crack vid, it actually works. Firefly - Suddenly I See by colls. Kaylee-centric. This is the perfect song for Kaylee - upbeat with a vaguely country-ish guitar background. Rome - Steel by viorica8957. The women of Rome. Secretary - The New Pollution by meiou_set. Secretary is the movie that introduced me to Maggie Gyllenhaal, who manages to play a character finding herself through masochism and romantic submissiveness. This video captures the quirk, colour, and joy of the film. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Dirtywhirl by twistdmentality. Cameron - I wanted to say something intelligent about the dichotomy between Cameron's delicate appearance and her ruthlessness, but basically: BALLET AND GUNS!!! We Are by bananainpyjamas, which is a fantastic journal name. (While this is an ensemble vid, the point of view is very much Sarah's. The Vampire Diaries - Just Stand Still, Look Pretty. Elena, Caroline, Vicki - It's not easy being a teenage girl. The song is an especially good fit for Caroline.

Broken - A Multifandom Merlin/LOTS/Robin Hood Fanvid set to Jewel's "Hands" it is a GORGEOUS look at four of the main women in these shows and how they are never broken. Heroines - Stand in the Rain Another multifandom vid again it's Legend of the Seeker/Merlin/Robin Hood with a focus on Kahlan, Jennsen, Morgana and Marian only showing how resillient and brilliant they are. Ophelia - Legend of the Seeker This vid set to Natalie Merchant's "Ophelia" covers almost every single female character in season one with a speaking part! It is flawlessly edited and fits so perfectly together! I am ridiculously impressed with it! The Tower - An Inara Fanvid Does Firefly count as fantasy? I'm going to go with yes. This vid is a beautiful look at Inara as a character and her motivations. Finally here's another Firefly vid to Defying Gravity a song from the musical "Wicked" the focus is on all the characters but with a slant towards River, it's gorgeous and inspiring, particularly that first shot of Zoe! :)
