Hope Leaves by latteaddict. Hope Leaves is an intense video about the dark and desperate side of Kara Thrace. It's a compelling, highly emotional character study with a dense atmosphere. Regarding the stylistic devices I especially love the excellent song choice and very well dosed visual effects. By showing Kara in all her important relationships [info]latteaddict manages to capture an intriguing consistency in her demeanour. This video points right to the quintessence of this challenging character.

Fix You by lattelady6. The bittersweet tone of this video always touches me and seems fitting for this pairing - Kara and Lee's relationship is nothing if not tinged in melancholy. [info]lattelady6 does an excellent job of capturing the broken and destructive sides of Kara and Lee, while still infusing the video with the sense of love and hope that made me root for the ship over the years.

I have to agree that this is one of the best series vids for Queer as Folk I've yet seen. I love the way the various characters get their moments and there's a real feeling of the large ensemble that made up this cast. If you haven't seen it yet, check out Unconditional by dreamrequiem.

The vid-maker calls this "Popup book," though, technically, nothing actually pops up. Still pretty cool, though. Description: a wordless video of a man turning pages of a small home-made book. Each page has a hole punched in the center, with a black yarn threaded through them. As each page is turned, the yarn is drawn tight into a straight line, which becomes part of the illustration spanning two pages.
