If there's somebody else besides me watching Skins you might want to see the latest vid here. (Can be watched just for the pretty, too.:) It's Tony/Maxxie au and it's *gorgeous*. Which is really not all that surprising since it's by Obsessive24. I really need to send feedback. I still can't come up with anything even remotely worthy. Oh, and one excellent Who vid here [Handlebars] just because.:D

This vid is just worth a rec. I love the fact the musical piece is entitled, "Harry and Hermione" and it's on the Half Blood Prince movie soundtrack of all things! Considering the way things go in that movie/book, it's funny that they snuck in a piece for H/Hr. Anyway, the vid encompasses Movies 1-5 with audio from Movie 6.
The song is an instrumental piece with scenes and bits of audio from the movies in the vid as well. It's a really nice tribute to their journey through the years. It could be taken as a friendship vid too. It's beautiful either way.
It's by vidder SVEvenstar and the vid was put up July 20. If you like H/Hr, it honestly would be a shame if you haven't seen this vid yet.

Roslin/Adama. My love for them is ... becoming one of my favorite pairings of all time. Watching them get even closer in season 4 has been giving me a shipper heart attack like you wouldn't believe. This first vid is short (hence why I'm justifying the two-vids thing, heh), but lovely. The song fits them perfectly, and it makes my heart ache. Love it, love it, love it. [embed] This one is once again light on spoilers (no season 4 clips for instance), because I'm nice and considerate like that. Heh. I love this vid. It's another example of perfect song choice & editing for the two of them (plus it has more meat to it than the shorter one above). They are just so damn lovely. *cue dreamy shipper sigh* Roslin and Adama. Why are you so perfect?"

Who vids you want? Who vids I got! First, this gem from this year's Vividcon: Marble House by hollywoodgrrl. If it's Doctor/Rose vids you're after, anything by seduff is amazing: My favorites of hers are Nobody Sees, His Name is the Doctor, Wait For Me, and Don't Slow Down which is listed as Doctor/Donna, but is only if you really squint. It's more "YAY! DONNA! DOCTOR! FUNTIMES!" than anything. For more Serious-Doctor-Business, there's also: Handlebars by flummery. On the upswing: They Don't Know by laurashapiro for more Doctor/Rose happyfuntimes, and Mothership for general cast shenanigans. OMG! by obsessive24 = COMPANIONS FTW.

Death Shall Have No Dominion by littleblackbow (chibitoaster). Dark Shadows was a supernatural soap opera from the 60's that takes place in a fishing village in Maine and the Collinwood estate that overlooks the town. It has a cult following among many of us who love vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc. Barnabas Collins is the vampire in the series. Harry is in the role of Vicky Winters whose point of view the series is from for the most part. The music is Farewell by Apocalyptica. Media used: Pen and ink, video. I've never seen Dark Shadows, but I loved the setting of the old manor house in this crossover - I thought really complimented the HP world. She put so much work into this, and the song is a perfect fit for the tone/mood of the piece.

"e Vid of the Day. This one's by chambersvsmalone and is a nice little Ode to Brennan (no spoilers from what I see). The song is obviously "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" by Cake (one of my favorite songs from way back, btw). Again, as I said above, I dare you to watch this vid and not fall in love with her. It's impossible.
(That high-kick at the beginning, too? Oh my God, it like overpowers me with its cuteness everytime. I just can't even deal with it. Haha. I just want to like *squish* her, she's so damn adorkable.)

"Vid of the Day. All this talk about cancer inspired me to include one of my favorite Scully cancer-arc vids, this time by LyleXF. Lyle's vids are just crazily good, so get used to them showing up in my vid recs. This one is also doubly touching because it was done for the Tribute to Leyla charity project (Leyla Harrison was a fanfic author who passed away from melanoma back in 2001. She was so well known by the community that the show actually named a character after her in the 8th season. Her fic was some of the earliest I ever read, back around '96/'97). This video is a lovely tribute to her. It's also extremely good just aside from that as well, and does a great job showcasing why Gillian Anderson so very much deserved the Emmy she won for her work in the 4th season."

For my first Vid of the Day, I'm going to cheat and post two. This first vid is by midwifeonboard. this vid is all about the New Caprica arc from season 3 (of BSG), and I lovelovelove that arc. So combine that with a great song and a good vid and you have a happy Rachael. For my second vid of the day, I give you yet another Roslin/Adama vid, this time by Sczep84. This one's really sweet. But of course how could it not be, when it's about them? Seriously, these two make me so happy, even when they're making me sad. How do they do that?

I Wish The Best For You (Ted/Blake, relationship) by Elizabeth & Jennifer. Takes you from the beginning through to the very end of Ted/Blake. It's beautifully colored, the pacing is fabulous and the editing sharp. I love all the emotion in this video and it really shows you how it was never loving each other that was the problem.
