(ce) Beyond minimalistic web design, part I
Minimalism to me goes beyond the design of (ce). Minimalism is—as much as it is beautiful to look at with ones eyes—a statement and a way of life. But lets start in the right end. What then, lays in the word “Minimalism” According to Wikipedia, it goes a little something like this:
“Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features and core self expression”.
It is hard to do a better job defining the word than that. Initially, minimalism is a term used to describe a niche of visual or audio based mediums. A common quote when dealing with minimalism is “Less is more”, a phrase originally used by German architect Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe (b 1886 - d 1969).
