The most exciting concept shown at the 2009 Frankfurt auto show is an electric sports car, the Audi e-tron. Borrowing body lines from the Audi R8, it can't help but look good. And boasting specs like 3,319 pound-feet of torque, it can't help but make gearheads drool.

Today, the Department of Energy announced that it has approved that loan--in the amount of $465 million. Tesla Motors and San Jose announced Wednesday that the city has been tapped as the future home for the electric-car maker's factory and new headquarters.

Both will be located on about 90 acres of land adjacent to the water-treatment plant off Zanker Road near Highway 237 in North San Jose.
