collaboration technology does not in and of itself generate collaboration. The technology is simply a tool, a facilitator of people's communication needs and habits. I believe and have seen through experience that for any technology to be truly transformative, it has to put people at the centre.

There are many ways to do this, but one of the best ways to ensure that any technology transformation is supported by a robust communication and engagement programme – a feature that is too often missing from many technology-led initiatives.

Faced with new evidence that utilities across the country are dumping toxic sludge into waterways, the Environmental Protection Agency is moving to impose new restrictions on the level of contaminants power plants can discharge.

Plants in Florida, Pennsylvania and several other states have flushed wastewater with levels of selenium and other toxins that far exceed the EPA's freshwater and saltwater standards aimed at protecting aquatic life, according to data the agency has collected over the past few years
