Here we go again. The Manufactured Doubt Industrial Complex cries hoax after the IPCC retracts a bogus prediction about the melting of the Himalayan glaciers from a climate change report.
Let's nip this in the bud — the Himalayan glaciers are still melting.
"Chewang Norphel has pioneered a simple method of creating artificial “glaciers” to irrigate farmland in high-altitude deserts"
11 Beautiful photos of glaciers taken from space - see them now before they are gone forever!
Glaciers around the globe continue to melt at high rates. Tentative figures for the year 2007, of the World Glacier Monitoring Service at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, indicate a further loss of average ice thickness of roughly 0.67 meter water equivalent (m w.e.). Some glaciers in the European Alps lost up to 2.5 m w.e.
A new study shows that the dozens of much smaller outflow glaciers dotting Greenland's coast together account for three times more loss from the island's ice sheet than the amount coming from their huge relatives.
In a study just published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, scientists at Ohio State University reported that nearly 75 percent of the loss of Greenland ice can be traced back to small coastal glaciers.
