Somehow I find this reassuring, both about the economy and the buyers. In contrast to the pictures of desperate buyers seeking bargains in the pre-dawn hours of Friday, this is a device that is of use only to someone who reads a significant amount. (The books are often cheaper than the printed ones, but this is a purchase — at $359 — that makes no sense if you don’t read a fair number of books.)
