Ecco, questo che si farà a Londra, è il BookCamp che mi piacerebbe organizzare anche in Italia, su questi temi:
"Our plan is for this to be a day of talking and doing - examining the role of the book as an object and as a delivery mechanism for content. We’re inviting authors, typographers, cover designers, printers, technologists, retailers, literary agents, publishers and geeks to come along and consider if and how technology can transform and perhaps improve on The Book. Will print on demand mean the end of the bookshop? Will ebook technology allow everyone to be their own publisher? Will printed books go the way of vinyl and become collectors objects? Are games the new novels? And does format matter or, to paraphrase Berry Gordy, is it what in the groove that counts?"
C'è qualcuno, magari qualche editore, che abbia voglia di metterlo in piedi con me?
"Sul libro elettronico non ho dubbi e ci sono vari segnali - ogni giorno che passa esce sulla stampa USA un nuovo pezzo che rafforza la tesi - che puntano nella stessa direzione. Non faccio altro che segnalarli ad Antonio Tombolini che rappresenta la persona più attenta a queste dinamiche in Italia. Non mi stupisce se Antonio, un paio di giorno dopo la mia segnalazione del BookCamp di Parigi ne abbia messo in piedi una edizione tutta italiana a Rimini l'11 luglio prossimo."
BookCamp a Parigi: mi sembra ben concepito, mi piacerebbe riuscire ad organizzarne uno così anche in Italia...
