"60 Educational Game Sites That You’ve Probably Never Seen
Ok, so you’ve probably seen some of these, but I needed a snazzy title. I recently compiled two lists of sites from Richard Byrne’s Blog – the site is an amazing resource, and I’m pretty certain that Richard doesn’t sleep. These aren’t in order of greatness – they all have their own specific applications for education. A few of these appear on my Sites for Kids (and Teachers) page.
Enjoy!"

My 3 favourite iPhone Apps
Over the summer I purchased an iPhone and it has taken me until now to download a blogging app (BlogPress lite). Here I am giving it a try and so far it's easy to use. I was reading an article from the Irish Times about the use of the iPod touch and iPhone for educational purposes, and I thought how can I use it for my teaching. How about fieldwork?I searched and found a great app Geotags. It's simple to use and incorperates google maps, the camera (for tagging photos to a location) as well as an option to attach text and voice memos. With the Iphone the fieldsketch is now dead. All you do is take a photo tag it and then describe the features on the voice memo.
The second App turns the iPhone or pod into an encyclopedia. The wikipedia App. If you can browse the net you can browse this App simple to use and great for research. Remember the students need to varify what is written on the pages.
The third App is Twitterrific. This has been a great source of contact with my students on the deprtment Twitter page. I use it more than the web page and again it's easy to use. As well as tweeting you can upload photos great for quick homework setting or use it to help students (which I used it for during the summer).
