Math Apprentice
The site connects math to real world careers by allowing students to be apprentices at various companies, applying their math skills to real world challenges. It introduces students to more advanced mathematical ideas as they read about additional math concepts used in each showcased career. The site was created with the belief that it is important for students to interact with math concepts beyond the standards, since this is where the joy of math can often be found.

The First Thanksgiving
"a collection of great activities for students to learn about Thanksgiving and the Pilgrims. Students can use this site independently as young as first grade because of the audio features on The First Thanksgiving. The site can be used as a center activity that a few students can explore together, independently in the computer lab setting, or as a whole class with a projector or interactive whiteboard. The webquest at the end of the activity checks for student understanding with a quiz. Increase students participation further with some The First Thanksgiving bonus features and extras. Print out a Thanksgiving Readers theater, door signs, a fact hunt, a vocabulary quiz, and some letters from historical figures. There are also research and historical fiction journals that students can continue learning with. These range from a Plymoth Colony research starter to Our America: Colonial period.

adopts the basic concept of tic tac toe to practice addition, subtraction and multiplication. You can play with either one or two players. If you pick two players the questions are color coded. From the drop down menu in the right corner of the screen you pick which operation you want to practice. A number will appear at the top of the screen and you have to pick the correct equation form the chart. Once you achieve 5 correct answers in a row on the chart you win! This activity works very well on the SMARTBoard- ENJOY!
