Using the RSS option, students can keep up with current events; news, stocks, innovation, local happenings via SMS on their cell phone wherever they are. This is nice for any class that integrates current events into the curriculum. By creating their own RSS keywords, students can follow their own choice of newspapers, blogs, and web resources to get their current events. They could even compare and contrast the accuracy of the news and the reporting with each other.
Scribble Maps - Easily Type and Draw on Google Maps
Applications for Education
Scribble Maps could be a good resource for teachers of geography, history, or current events. Using Scribble Maps students could create a map on which they highlight various sites and include short text descriptions of those places. Scribble Maps could also be used to quickly draw a simple timeline on a map. For example, I might have US History students draw a timeline of westward expansion at the top of a map. The students would then draw lines connecting years to landmarks on the map.

These videos could be useful for teachers of current events and teachers of US History. Teachers of US History could use the videos as a brief explanation of the significance of FDR's election in 1932 and the legislation he got passed in an attempt to pull the country out of the Great Depression.
Teachers of current events could use the videos as the starting point for a discussion or student research about what President Obama has done in his first one hundred days in office.
