Make your audio and video files executable without a media player - Download Squad

This is an excellent no-frills app. Another of those does-one-thing-but-does-it-well applications that I like. You drop in a music file and a .exe comes out the other end. Open the .exe and (surprise) it plays your music. Good stuff!

NuTsie Offers Mobile Access to Your iTunes Library

  • NuTsie is a recently launched music service that lets you access your iTunes library on your cell phone.

With a nuTsie membership, you can export your iTunes metadata to its servers, where your iTunes library is compared with the music in nuTsie’s database. The music you hear is coming from nuTsie, not iTunes, as there is no transfer of actual music from your iTunes library. NuTsie is accessible on the web as well as on your cell phone, and you can also share your playlists with others on nuTsie’s web service. This feature will soon be accessible on the phone. Currently, nuTsie is supported on a small variety of Nokia phones, and a handful from other brands.

Open Culture: U2 Plays @ The Cannes Film Festival

  • The 60th Cannes Film Festival is in full swing. It's all film for ten plus days. But last night, music or really U2 took center stage. Before the midnight screening of their new rockumentary, U23D, the Irish band played a two song set (Vertigo and Where the Streets Have No Name) on the red carpet. It was short and sweet. You can watch it below. Cheers.
