Less Accounting :: track expenses & sales leads, create / send proposals & invoices

- We choose not to function, act or even smell like Peachtree or Quickbooks.
- Wesabe is great, we just aren't anything like it.
- Freshbooks or Blinksale: we invoice, just no robust calendar time tracking functionality.
- Not a robust CRM by any means, just check out Highrise by 37signals.
- If you need a sales management component that is built for a large sales teams, try Salesforce.
- We're not an address book or a check registry.
- No Calendar here, try iCal or Google Calendar.

PlanHQ - Online Business planning software

I usually steer clear of posting services that aren't free, at least during the beta phase. I'm really impressed with this site, so I'm making an exception. Starting at $15/mo you get some major business planning tools in a nice web2.0 feel that's bound to impress someone, even if it doesn't get you any venture capital.

- I think this is a great post! Simple advice that goes a long way. I tagged this because of his bit on software. I've said it over and over again that there is no longer a need for people and even businesses to go out and buy expensive software packages. Open source is an amazingly efficient concept! Tell me your needs and I'll find the software that fits and is free. And if you're still hell-bent on spending money on software, go open source and have a developer tailor software to meet your specific needs.
