More national recognition for Boise and our tech scene.
I'm sad to see Don bow out, but I totally understand. It's a hard labor of love to keep a blog going on the side. Thanks Don, we'll miss your voice.
This is a great move in the right direction. Now we just need to get broadband to everyone.
It's not often that you hear the words: Idaho, Goverment, Web, Innovative and Award all used together. Way to go, Idaho!
Balihoo did a great job presenting at VCIR Fall. Pete's presentation confirmed my beliefe that Balihoo will be Boise's next big breakout success. You can read Balihoo's report for more.
I have recently joined Highway 12 Ventures, part time as their Entrepreneur-in-Residence. I'm still at HP, this is just something I'm doing in my "spare time". You can read the full post for all the juicy details.
Patrick Lee, One of the main driving forces behind the Statesman's blogging/commenting capabilities and their presence on Twitter is leaving the Statesman (voluntarily) to accept a better offer from BodyBuilding.com I know I will miss Pat's help there. Best of luck.
More well deserved coverage for the cool Library project.

Things To Consider When Starting Up a Company in Idaho – A Lawyer’s Perspective
Not very pretty, but it sure seems to hava lot of good info.
OK well I think I'm going to finally take the plunge and update all of my sites. I'll start with my neglected.. er, less active HyperBored site and then if I don't screw that up I'll update TechBoise and NewCommbiz. So if the site has issues you'll know why. Of course if the sites down you won't see this anyway, so, whatever.
Here's another great example of why tech workers (and everyone really) enjoys working in Boise.
"These combined factors make for a great spirit and mindset coming into work each morning. Moreover, it’s really amazing to live in a capital city and have such amazing access to the outdoors right in the center of the city. Here are a few pictures of the sights you see along the greenbelt:"
(be sure to check out those photo's)
Sad news from one of the promising startups here in town. MobileDataforce lays off 7 people.
This is one are that Idaho needs to be aggressively investing in. Not only is there bottom line financial benefit, but ag, tech and everyone benefits. Especially if the money invested isn't just in infrastructure but research and development both in our colleges and the private sector.
Media planning software firm Balihoo has added media veteran Jack Haire to its Board of Directors
Zach from the IBR writes much better than I do about Tsheets.
Ok I know I said I was going to try and control my cynicism, but I can't resist myself. Honestly I don't care about the LGBT issue. What does concern me?
"Bonner County legislative candidate C.J. Rose has never been to Boise. The soon-to-be-61-year-old retired teacher lives in a log cabin near Spirit Lake. She heats and cooks with wood. She has to drive to town for mail and a cell signal."
"Rose hopes to bring diversity to Boise, but not just the sexual orientation kind. She is rural. She is a Democrat."
So the diversity is that she's a Dem? We got everything else.
While this is still nothing to complain about, to me this is one of the problems with such a low unemployment rate.
"The pace of Idaho’s real economic growth in 2006 was significantly reduced by the U. S. Bureau of Economic Analysis on June 5, the Idaho Department of Labor said in a release. Idaho’s growth estimate for 2007 was even slower despite record low unemployment."
