I find it very interesting that Feedly is #2 (it rocks, so no surprise) and that Google Reader is #1. Meaning the #1 reader fuels the back end of the #2 reader.

I really wish there was an alternative to feedburner. i'm about at the point where i may just go with the default feeds build into WordPress and Drupal, but then you lack the reporting and management features. I'm sure there's a way to DIY it I'm just not g33ky enough.

Disqus has been quitely building momentum. I dismissed it when it first came out because I felt the conversation was the most important part of your blog/social network and why would you want to give that away. But more and more services like FriendFeed which can aggregate all of these conversations (while simultaneously dis-aggregating them) is making me give Disqus a second look.

Some people say that the bubble's going to take a downturn in the next year or two - that huge numbers of copycat startups are going to shut down, people are going to be out of work and Web 2.0 cheerleaders are going to eat their (our) words.
While startup churn is inevitable in any industry (thank goodness we're not restaurant founders!) I think this forecast is selling the future short. There are some big trends I'm really excited about for the web in 2008. Whatever happens to the economy, there's at least a whole lot of innovation to be inspired by right now. Ultimately, I think that will end up brightening the picture for all of us around the world.
