MediaPost Publications - LinkedIn To Launch Its Own Ad Network - 09/15/2008

Seriously, who's not launching an ad network these days? I can't decide if this is a genuine attempt to capture more revenue or an attempt of the un-acquired to make themselves more attractive to acquirers.

And no one even noticed. LinkedIn is the virtual version of a Rolodex. It sits there till you need to find one of your contacts to see if they know someone who can help you. IMHO LinkedIn lost it's luster when the novelty of connecting with people online wore off. I'm not saying LinkedIn is irrelevant I think it missed it's opportunity to sell of a year or two ago, make a few hundred million and go start something else.
