Usually this would mark the moment when I urgently ask Forbes researcher Sue Radlauer to help me dig up the legal docs so I can publish them on behalf of you readers — except this time I was beat to the punch. Some fast-fingered reporter? Nope. I was beat by HP itself.
HP published a blog item with a screaming “BREAKING” headline. It published the complaint to Scribd and linked to it for all to see. The company later dropped a copy in a public Dropbox account for direct download. Its official Twitter account tipped Techmeme, a high profile technology news aggregator, which subsequently pushed out the press release directly from its homepage.
This is what scares me about the "jobless recovery". Revenue, sales, jobs, everything except profit is down. Meaning they're cutting there way to profit. You can only do that for so long. I'm worried about that second dip some keep mentioning (the one that's worse than the first).

This year’s money, he says, will fund projects that relate to H-P’s existing businesses, but not necessarily in ways that will generate short-term profits. For example, Carnegie Mellon’s Noah Smith is getting a grant this year to study how “opinions are propagated through social communities” on political blogs, and “analyze how the vast amount of data can be leveraged for commerce, social advertisement and other commercial and statistical methods.”

This is indeed interesting. I really don't know what to think of it yet. I've been out of the office w/ school so I haven't heard any official internal announcements yet. Ron Coughlin, our new VP of Marketing for IPG is a consumer ad guy so this makes sence. I need more details before I make up my mind on this.
