YouTubeやニコニコ動画をBGMとして利用している中高生は多いようだ。中3女子は、YouTubeから楽曲付き動画ダウンロードし、動画の音声をMP3ファイルに変換して楽しんでいるという。
中3男子も「欲しいCDでも買う余裕がないときはYouTubeで済ませることもある」と話す。ニコ動に投稿されている『作業用BGM』を聞くことも。DVDを買うお金はないから、YouTubeやニコ動で見ることもある」
高2男子は「YouTubeはBGMとして聴いており、音楽のプロモーションビデオをダウンロードすることもある。ただ、音質が良くないのでMP3に変換したりはしない」という。
